Wet Plate Collodion Process
In 1851 Frederick Scott Archer discovered the Wet Plate Collodion process, allowing the first glass negatives and image reproduction via albumen prints. This process uses a large format camera to create unique portraits that hark back to an era long past. These images are memories on metal.




















Large Format Five by Four
The 4x5 large-format camera originated in the early development of photography in the 19th century. Large-format photography, which utilis es film sheets (four by five inches in size, hence the name), was a necessity in the early days due to the limitations of photographic technology.
